Studio ArtFX Aims for Japanese Anime Market with New Trailer
Studio ArtFX, led by director Terrence Walker, is making a big move to introduce its animation to Japan! A new trailer, available here, showcases a glimpse of what’s to come. The trailer features the words “Kokoro no Seikai” (Heart of the World), “Log-in”, “Interface”, and “Start”. While the trailer primarily uses clips from Studio ArtFX's previous works, Understanding Chaos and Shadowskin, it's designed to capture the attention of a Japanese audience who may not be familiar with the studio. ArtFX is planning to release these titles, alongside other independent animation, within Japan. According to a recent press release, Terrence Walker was inspired during the NewTek Asia Tour in April 2002. He noticed the growing popularity of independent anime productions in Japan and recognized a fantastic opportunity for Studio ArtFX. STUDIO ARTFX TAKES ON JAPAN

"During my trip to China and Japan as part of the NewTek Asia Tour in April of 2002," spoke Terrence Walker, "I was astonished to see first hand the popularity of what I am doing. Recent indie productions there have become smash hits in the home video market. After speaking with a number of other independent creators there, I decided this was the best move for furthering the exposure of Studio ArtFX' properties."
Studio ArtFX is currently in talks with both major studio and small independent distributors about future possibilities. These include releasing indie anime compilation DVDs in both the American and Japanese market. Providing extensive making-of extra features showing off the use of next generation tools such as Lightwave 3D and DStorm's FXBreak will insure both fans and up and coming creators find what they're looking for in the new products.
"It's always been a dream of mine to create anime in Japan and for the Japanese market," continued Terrence, "and now, through alliances with various studios there, that dream, too, will become a reality." Studio ArtFX is currently negotiating with distributors to release compilation DVDs in both America and Japan, with plans to include behind-the-scenes features showcasing tools like Lightwave 3D and DStorm's FXBreak. This is a dream come true for Terrence Walker, who hopes to create anime in Japan, for the Japanese market!
